DTRC Europe was invited by Heribert Hirte, chairman of the Stephanuskreis and member of parliament of the CDU, to address the situation of Iraqi minorities.
The Stephanuskreis is a German inter-confessional discussion forum which advocates tolerance and freedom of religion. It is a discretional group within the Bundestag/German parliament which was founded in 2010 and currently has 86 members.
The meeting took place on the 24th of March 2017 in the Bundestag in Berlin. Speakers from Iraq were Angel (16) and Gina (55). The women spoke about the future of Christians and other religious minorities in Iraq. What is expected to occur after the liberation of Mossul and the Nineveh Province? Is there a future for them in Iraq and how can other countries come to their aid?
After the presentation a discussion took place among participants.
